Auckland Friends Centre
Location
The Centre is within walking distance of the city, is on a main bus route and minutes away from a train station. The Airbus to and from the Airport is very convenient and cheap (at present $15 one way, $22 return) and will stop at the regular bus stop near the Centre (just ask for the Mt Eden station stop and walk back to the Centre). A shuttle bus and taxis will take you to the door but cost more. The Meeting House is next door at number 113 and the car parking is behind the Meeting House, off Sylvan Avenue. There are numerous cafes within 15 minutes walking distance.
Accommodation
Bed and breakfast accommodation is offered to Quakers and those associated with Friends. We have two twin-bedded guest rooms which share shower room and toilet facilities. Towels are provided. The Centre is wheel chair accessible. The lounge has books, television, video and a sound centre for CDs and radio (but no DVD player), also tourist information. Guests can make a hot drink from a trolley. There are sometimes Meeting events in the lounge which guests are welcome to join. A little personal laundry can be done and may be hung on the line. Guests may use the Centre telephone and are encouraged to use a phone card to pay for calls at the time. There is no provision for self-catering.
